Development Coordinator

Then you could be an excellent fit for the League to Save Lake Tahoe’s (the League, a.k.a. Keep Tahoe Blue) fundraising team. The League is looking for a high energy, results-oriented and self-starting leader to play a crucial role in supporting the Development Director in all things related to the League’s major fundraising campaigns. The Development Coordinator (DC) will ensure excellent coordination within the development department, helping execute logistics for donor cultivation and stewardship activities. As DC you will be a member of an extraordinary and talented team of professionals working to protect Lake Tahoe.

The DC position reports to the Development Director and coordinates activities such as donor research, venue identification, contract review, meeting preparation, and catering. The DC is a superuser of the Salesforce CRM and Classy, ensuring that data, especially for our highest level supporters, is accurate and leveraged as a tool by the team for relationship management. The DC is responsible for supporting the team with operational needs such as mail and donation processing, acknowledgement letters and cultivation tracking.
What the position involves:
- Administrative support
- The DC will provide administrative support within the development department, setting meetings and appointments, gathering and preparing appropriate collateral for meetings, preparing briefings for the solicitor, and maintaining a pulse on all things related to the League’s donors.
- The DC organizes, manages and executes all components of house parties and boat tours.
- Donor relations
- The DC will serve as primary contact for inquiries and special requests from membership donors and respond in a timely manner and with utmost professionalism and discretion.
- The DC is responsible for ensuring meaningful donor activities are recorded in the database.
- The DC will also research new and current donors to ensure the most up to date information is at hand to inform cultivation strategies.
- Salesforce administrative support
- The DC will be the primary backup for gift data entry and departmental gift processing, including during the absence of the development associate and during high volume times.
- The DC will also help identify best practices and tools within Salesforce to enhance efficiency of current processes.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
- Understanding of donor/customer relations and interactions.
- Excellent relationship-building skills which create rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Use of discretion when dealing with sensitive donor information.
- Excellent oral, written, organizational and computer skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to utilize tact and diplomacy with staff and the board of directors.
- Highly organized and capable of working in a changing environment.
- Ability to learn new skills and navigate quickly through available data to make good decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with a strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Efficient and effective at managing and completing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision, possesses good judgment and works well with others.
- A thoughtful, articulate, outstanding leader and communicator that promptly and effectively manages staff issues and needs.
- Able to cultivate a sense of curiosity about fundraising, data and what makes philanthropy meaningful.
- Computer proficiency with Windows, Office 365 and Google Apps.
- Flexibility to travel to meetings in the Bay Area, Reno, Sacramento and around the Tahoe Basin.
Preferred:
- Previous experience using Salesforce as a donor management system.
- Familiarity with Lake Tahoe environmental and policy issues.
- An interest and passion for environmental conservation and the League’s mission to protect, restore and advocate for the ecosystem health and scenic beauty of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
League-specific requirements:
- The chosen candidate must be able to dependably get around the Lake Tahoe Basin, Bay Area, Reno and Sacramento at all reasonable hours and in all reasonable weather conditions, including heavy snow, and when public transportation is not available. The League does not provide a vehicle or other forms of transportation.
- The position requires some physical activity such as bending, stooping, carrying and lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Employees are required to have a current COVID-19 vaccination.

Pay range: $20 - $23/hr
