Tahoe Climate Resilience Action Strategy

Mar 21, 2022: In 2021, Tahoe communities have experienced the climate crisis first-hand: major wildfire evacuations were followed by climate whiplash, as weather swung between the extremes of long dry spells and large storms.

Tahoe Climate Resilience Action StrategyTahoe partners are ready to act. The League worked with our federal, state, and local partners including the California Tahoe Conservancy, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and our Nevada partners to identify five focus areas that will advance equity, create jobs, and build resilience for the Basin’s extraordinary natural resources, 57,000 residents, and an economy that supports 15 million annual visitors.  

We have identified shovel-ready projects within the strategy’s five focus areas that will make our communities and natural resources more resilient to climate change.
